Flamingo Fling

Dear Fling Supporters,

We regret to inform you that the Flamingo Fling has been cancelled. Just like you, the economy plays a significant role in our lives and the success of the event. Many companies are consolidating and re-inventing themselves, and while many of you would like to attend, you may not have the discretionary income to travel.

This was a very difficult decision to make. We remember the fun times had over the past 14 years when we started at the Sheraton and introduced Hallmark prototypes, to the events where items auctioned off for thousands of dollars.

While we won’t be seeing you in Tampa, we hope that you remember the charity that we all came together to support. Southeastern Guide Dogs continues to provide professionally trained guide dogs. The cost to train one dog is over $40,000.

· ‘Paws for Patriots’ program is for soldiers injured fighting for our freedom;

· ‘Paws for Independence’ program provides a guide dog for the visually impaired;

· ‘Gifted Canine’ program provides service dogs that may specialize in law enforcement careers (arson dogs; search and rescue; narcotics) or therapy careers (visiting children’s homes, hospitals, nursing homes).
